Brick wall generator
Pick a bond, mix your bricks and light the wall. Every brick is placed, so the quantities below are counted off the wall you are looking at rather than estimated from its area.
The band under each slider is where most real walls sit, and a roll stays inside it. Tick the box beside a slider to let a roll go past it; dragging always can.
Mix
Wall
Bricks
Dry-pressed with a smooth face and crisp edges, salmon to orange with darker flashing. Usually laid in a blend.
Dry-pressed, plum to purple-brown. Blended with lighter bricks for contrast.
Which brick each slot holds, whether it is in the wall, how many parts of it and what order they go in are all set in the mix under the wall.
Distribution
The drawings use two bricks, filled and hollow, and show what each control pushes them toward.
Mortar
Cut back square. Puts the whole wall into deep relief and is the least weatherproof.
Irregularity
Each of these is a few millimetres on a real wall, so the drawings exaggerate them to be seen at all.
Light
Quantities
| Brick | Mix | Whole | Cut | Order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pressed salmon | 73% | 328 | 31 | 377 |
| Pressed plum | 27% | 120 | 11 | 138 |
| Total | 100% | 448 | 42 | 515 |
A cut brick counts as a whole brick, because cutting one uses one. The offcut sometimes serves the other end of a course, which would bring this down slightly, so treat the figure as the conservative one.
